Almost everything a regular player needs is available without signing in. The host (the person who set up the server and logged in) handles the admin side; you handle your team.

On the main page, tap the gold button in the top-right action strip. No login needed.
Enter a team name and select your race from the dropdown. The team’s full position list and stats appear below.
Click + Add on any position row to add that player to your roster. Give them a name and an optional jersey number (1–99).
Team Value is calculated live at the top. Blood Bowl 7s has a 600,000 gp budget. Stay under or ask your host whether TV limits apply.
Enter a PIN before saving to lock your roster. With a PIN you can edit your team from any device later. See Section 03 for details.
Click Save Roster. Your team is stored on the server as a guest roster and appears on the main list with a GUEST badge.
7–11 players total — you must field exactly 7. Max 4 specialist (non-Lineman) positions. Re-rolls cost double their normal price. Otherwise the roster is identical to full Blood Bowl.
POSITION STATS EXPLAINED
| COLUMN | MEANING |
|---|---|
| MA | Movement Allowance — squares per move action |
| ST | Strength — used when blocking or being blocked |
| AG | Agility — target number for picking up, catching, dodging (lower is better, e.g. 2+ is better than 4+) |
| PA | Passing Accuracy — target for passing the ball (— means can’t pass) |
| AV | Armour Value — target rolled when hit to see if armour breaks (higher is better) |
| TV | Team Value cost of this position |
GUEST ROSTERS
When you save a roster without logging in, it’s stored as a guest roster. It shows on the main roster list with a GUEST badge so the host knows it’s yours. Guest rosters persist on the server — they won’t disappear between sessions.
TEAM PHOTOS
The host can attach a team photo to your roster card on the main list. If they do, it appears as a banner behind your roster card. You can’t upload photos yourself as a guest — ask your host.
THE PIN SYSTEM
A PIN locks your roster so only you can edit it. Without a PIN, anyone with access to the app can see your roster but can’t change it (only the host admin can).
Enter a 4–8 digit PIN in the builder form before saving. Store it somewhere safe — it can’t be recovered, only reset by the host.
On your roster card on the main list, click Manage. Enter your PIN to authenticate. A YOUR TEAM badge appears and you can now edit players, names, and numbers.
PIN auth works from any browser — enter it on your phone at game time and you’re authenticated for that session.
HOW IT WORKS
- The host starts a game session and receives a 4-character code (e.g. WX74)
- They share the code with you — text, Discord, shout across the table
- On the main page, click 🔗 JOIN H2H
- Enter the code and select your roster from the list
- Click JOIN — you’re in the game
Codes are always 2 consonants + 2 digits (e.g. WX74, BC39). They’re case-insensitive but the display always shows them in uppercase. If your join fails, double-check the code with the host — sessions expire after 24 hours.
GAME TYPES
The host sets the game type when starting. You’ll see a badge when you join:
LAYOUT OVERVIEW
Once you’ve joined, the page switches to the game view. Here’s what you’re looking at:
Sits at the top. Shows current half, turn number, and score for both teams. The gold ● dot moves to whichever team has possession. Only the host can edit the scoreboard — it’s read-only for you, but updates live every 5 seconds.
Shows the current weather result and kick-off event below the scoreboard. Either player can roll these (see Section 07).
Your team’s full player list with stats, skills, and status buttons. This is the section you control — you update player status here as casualties happen on the pitch.
Your opponent’s roster displayed read-only. Their status updates sync to your view live so you always know who’s off the pitch. Skills are shown so you can plan your blocks accordingly.
Below the rosters. Weather roller, kick-off event, casualty table, desperate measures, and prayers. These are local — rolling dice on your side doesn’t send a result to your opponent (except weather and kick-off, which sync for both sides).
Shows your remaining re-rolls. Tap a re-roll marker to mark it used. These sync to your opponent so both sides know how many you’ve burned.
Each player row in your roster section has a STATUS button on the right. Tap it to cycle through the states as players go down on the pitch. Status syncs to your opponent’s screen and to any spectators within 5 seconds.
All dice tools are below the roster sections in the game view. Each is clearly labelled. Here’s what each one does and when to use it.
- 🌞 WEATHER
- Rolls 2D6 and looks up the result on the BB7s weather table (Sweltering Heat to Blizzard). Either player can roll. The result syncs to both screens and the spectator view. Roll this at the start of the game and after any “Changing Weather” kick-off event.
- 🆕 KICK-OFF EVENT
- Rolls 2D6 and looks up the official BB7s Death Zone 2025 kick-off event table. Roll this after every kick-off (including the opening drive). The result syncs to both screens. Apply the event effect before the kicking team sets up.
- 💀 CASUALTY ROLLER
- Rolls the BB7s Sevens Injury Table (2D6, different from the D16 full Blood Bowl table). Use this whenever a player’s armour breaks. There’s a toggle for Stunty players (shifts all thresholds down by 1). Results: Stunned / KO / Badly Hurt / MNG / Dead. This is local only — your opponent doesn’t see your roll, you tell them the result and update the STATUS button accordingly.
- ⚔ DESPERATE MEASURES
- Shown to the lower-TV team. Rolls a D8 against the Desperate Measures table. The TV gap between teams determines how many rolls you get (1 roll per 50k gap, re-rolling duplicates). When you mark a Desperate Measure used in H2H, a full-screen alert appears on your opponent’s device and any spectator screens — so everyone knows what you’ve played.
- 🙏 PRAYERS TO NUFFLE
- Shown alongside Desperate Measures. Rolls from the first 8 entries of the BB2025 Prayers to Nuffle D16 table. One prayer per 50k TV gap. Mark each prayer used to track what’s been spent — used prayers are logged in the play-by-play. As with Desperate Measures, marking a prayer used during H2H triggers a full-screen alert on all connected screens (opponent + spectators) — these are big moves and everyone should know about them.
WHAT’S A STAR PLAYER?
In scrimmage games, either coach can drop in a legendary Star Player for a bit of chaos — costs be damned. There are 50 stars across five tiers from absolute monsters (Griff Oberwald, Deeproot Strongbranch) to gloriously useless (Akhorne the Squirrel, Helmut Wulf). One star per team, max.
HOW TO HIRE ONE
- In a SCRIMMAGE game, find the ★ STAR button in your roster section header
- Tap it to open the Star Player picker
- Browse by tier — each star shows their full stat line, skills, and special ability
- Tap a star to hire them — they appear as a purple-tinted row below your regular roster
- Your opponent sees the star on their screen within 5 seconds
- To release them, tap the ✕ RELEASE button on their row
THE FIVE TIERS
| TIER | LABEL | NOTES |
|---|---|---|
| I | Glory Seekers | Reliable legends — usually worth it |
| II | Legends | Powerful but often expensive |
| III | Veterans | Solid options, good value |
| IV | Clunkers | Niche picks — situational |
| V | FU Jerks | Dangerous to everyone, including you |
WHAT SPECTATORS SEE
The spectator view is a public read-only page — no login, no code needed. It refreshes every 5 seconds and shows:
- Scoreboard (half, turn, score)
- Possession indicator
- Current weather and kick-off event
- Both teams’ full player grids with live status (KO, CAS, DEAD)
- Any hired star players
- Full-screen alerts when either team uses a Prayer to Nuffle or Desperate Measure
HOW TO SHARE
- In the game view, find the 🔗 SHARE SPEC LINK button (usually near the game code display)
- Tap it — the spectator URL is copied to your clipboard
- Paste into Discord, a group chat, or share with anyone who wants to follow along
index.php?spectate=WX74Anyone who opens it sees the live game. No login required.
Once you’ve claimed a PIN, you can edit your roster from any device — fix a typo in a player name, update a jersey number, or rename your team before the big match.
HOW TO AUTHENTICATE
- On the main page, find your roster card in the list
- Click the Manage button
- A PIN prompt appears — enter your 4–8 digit PIN
- Your card gets a YOUR TEAM badge and the edit form unlocks
- Make your changes and click Save Roster
WHAT YOU CAN EDIT WITH YOUR PIN
- Team name
- Individual player names
- Jersey numbers
- Add or remove players
WHAT ONLY THE HOST CAN DO
- Reset or change your PIN
- Delete your roster entirely
- Enroll your roster in a season
- Attach a team photo to your card
- Mark season game results
- The app looks empty when I load it — where are the rosters?
- The main list shows all saved rosters. If it’s your first visit, there may be none yet. Click + BUILD GUEST ROSTER to create yours. If others have rosters and you can’t see them, try a hard refresh (Ctrl+Shift+R / Cmd+Shift+R).
- I can’t see the JOIN H2H button.
- The 🔗 JOIN H2H button only appears when you’re not logged in as the host. If you’re seeing a different set of buttons (like NEW ROSTER and CLEAR GAMES), you’re currently signed in as the commissioner — sign out first.
- The scoreboard isn’t updating on my screen.
- The game view polls every 5 seconds. If it’s been more than 10 seconds with no update, try refreshing the page — you’ll rejoin the same game automatically. If the session expired (24h timeout), ask the host to start a new one.
- I accidentally marked a player KO when they should be CAS (or vice versa).
- Just tap the STATUS button again to cycle to the correct state. It loops: On Pitch → PRN → STN → RES → KO → CAS → DEAD → On Pitch.
- Can I be a spectator and a player at the same time?
- The spectator URL is a separate page — open it in another tab or on another device. Your game-view session isn’t affected by having the spectator page open elsewhere.
- My roster shows a GUEST badge. Will it disappear?
- Guest rosters are permanent — they won’t vanish unless the host manually clears them or you explicitly delete it (PIN required). The GUEST badge just means you saved it without the admin login; it has no effect on gameplay.
- The star player I hired doesn’t appear on my opponent’s screen.
- Star player changes sync on the 5-second poll. Give it a few seconds. If it still hasn’t appeared after 15 seconds, ask your opponent to manually refresh.
- Does the app work on mobile?
- Yes — it’s designed for phone and tablet use at the table. The layout adjusts to fit your screen. On iPhone/Android you can “Add to Home Screen” from your browser menu for an app-like experience (it’s a PWA).
- I want to use this for a season but the host hasn’t set one up yet.
- Season management is admin-only. Build your roster, claim a PIN, and let the host know you’re ready. Once they create the season and enroll your roster, your games will count toward standings automatically.
The ⚔ TZ CALC button in the game view opens a standalone tool for visualising tackle zones and calculating block dice. It’s a 9×9 pitch grid where you can place tokens, run block simulations, and get plain-English explanations of every result — with skill reminders so you don’t have to remember interactions mid-game.
THE THREE MODES
Click an empty square to drop a token. Before placing, set the team (HOME/AWAY), Strength (1–8), status (Standing / Prone / Stunned), the Guard checkbox, and any relevant skills from the checklist (Block, Dodge, Frenzy, etc.). Right-click any token to remove it; click an existing token to edit it in a popup. Tokens show their jersey number (when loaded from a roster), ST, and skill badges. On touch screens, drag tokens to reposition them after placing.
Click any placed token to see its full details (team, ST, status, Guard, skills) without editing the grid. Good for a quick read when the pitch gets crowded.
Click your attacker, then click the target. The tool calculates block dice, counts valid assists (standing adjacent players with Guard or a free tackle zone on the target), and shows a full explanation. Skill reminders appear for both players — e.g. if the attacker has Block and the defender has Dodge, you’ll see exactly what each skill changes about the result.
LINE UP & PERSISTENCE
Instantly places all loaded roster players in legal starting rows across the width of the pitch — HOME team in their end zone row, AWAY team in theirs. Good starting point before a kick-off to verify tackle zone coverage.
Your token layout is saved to your device after every change. Refreshing the page or closing and reopening TZ CALC restores the last board state — you won’t lose a complex mid-game setup.
ROSTERS PANEL
When you open TZ CALC from a live game, your current roster (and your opponent’s in H2H) is loaded automatically into the ROSTERS panel on the left.
- Player names show their jersey number (e.g. #7 Throg) when set — matches the tokens on the board
- Click any player row to pre-fill the PLACE TOOL with their ST, Guard, and skills in one tap — then click a square to drop them on the grid
- In H2H, both teams are listed with colour-coded left borders (red for your team, blue for theirs)
- Star players are included, marked with a ★ and their proper ST (up to ST7 for Deeproot)
- MNG players are greyed out and can’t be placed — they’re not on the pitch
SCENARIOS
The SCENARIOS dropdown on the right loads a pre-set grid so you can jump straight into a worked example:
- 1v1 Open — attacker vs. defender, no assists
- 1v1 Marked — defender has a friendly assisting nearby
- Assisted Block — attacker has a Guard assist
- Outnumbered — attacker is surrounded
- Guard Assist — demonstrating how Guard bypasses tackle zones
- Screening Web — a cage with tackle zone coverage
- Dauntless Spot — attacker with Dauntless vs. high-ST defender
After loading a scenario, switch to BLOCK mode and click the attacker to see the full calculation. Click ✕ CLEAR to reset to an empty pitch.
